Counselor, Pool Director

I was born and raised in Franklin, TN and graduated from Franklin High School in 2008. I am currently attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and majoring in nursing.

My Camp YI journey began in 2001 at the age of 11. I later became a Service Camper, a CIT, a Counselor, and I am now Pool Director. I was certified as a Lifeguard at camp when I was 15 years old.

During high school I spent my time away from camp working at the Bellevue YMCA as a Lifeguard and a Swim Instructor. Aquatics is my forte, and I enjoy teaching children vital water safety skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Aside from the pool, Camp YI itself has changed my life. Through the positive influence of former counselors and fellow campers, I learned responsibility, independence, and self-confidence. Camp taught me to be sensitive towards others, which essentially sparked my interest in the nursing profession.

Camp YI is a unique safe haven where campers and counselors alike are accepted for who they really are, encouraged to find out who they will become, and taught vital lessons that will last a lifetime. I am so blessed to be a part of the Camp YI team and I am confident that the summer of 2009 will be amazing!
